Ellie Jane Goulding, born December 30, 1986 at Hereford England. Tracey Goulding Summers is her mother. Her father Arthur Goulding comes from a funeral home-based family. Goulding's older sister Isabel and her younger sister Jordan are sisters. Alex is her brother. Alex her brother plays bass and is part of the Hereford band. In her early years, she was encouraged to learn the piano by her mother. She began learning to play the clarinet when she was nine. She began to write songs of her own at the age of 14 but it wasn't until she went off to college that she really pursued writing songs. Goulding was intrigued by electronic and dance music as she studied. With the help of MySpace, she was able to contact Frankmusik who helped her create her folktronica. Jamie Lillywhite, a scout at the time, who was her manager for a while before taking on the A.&R role in universitiy talent competitions, discovered her. Lillywhite was then able to introduce her music producer Starsmith, who helped her make her debut single under the Sheets on November 15, 2009. He then worked on Lights. Despite their release of Under the Sheets through the independent label Neon Gold Records she was already registered with Polydor Records. Crawford is German English French and grew with three siblings, has a background that is German English French. It was during her junior year in high school that she began to model. Crawford first worked for the small agency of modeling which was sold to Elite Model Management. The Elite Look of the Year competition was held in 1983, and she made it to the finals. Following her graduation from DeKalb She was given an award for Northwestern University. However, after just one term in Northwestern the model dropped out in order to focus in her modelling career.
